My Delhi times

I have been assigned to a new assignment for which i needed to travel to New Delhi, Gurgaon to be specific. First i was excited and also anxious what could it turn out to. Anyways i thought to record this journey of my life, initially i thought of writing it for my own but later decided to blog it.

My flight was on 24-01-2010.I was supposed to travel to delhi one week before and i also had tickets in my hand. But those in IT industry are aware that there are always last minute surprises and my travel got posrponed for a week.Anyways, i came to airport one hour before the flight and after getting the boarding pass from a pretty kingfisher attendant i headed to terminal and met my colleague who was travelling with me.I had half an hour time and i started making calls to my friends and dear ones since my number will be on roaming once i leave karnataka. After some time we were requested to board the flight and we were welcomed by beautiful air hostesses of Kingfisher.After listening to important and boring instructions my flight took off and after browsing the available channels i sticked to a movie "Aa Dekhe Zara" and my journey became pleasant after having complementary snacks.

I was reading in news that because of fog in delhi several flights were delayed and some were even cancelled. Mine was no exception and my flight got delayed by 30 mins and my plane moved till panipat and returned to delhi. As the plane was moving to panipat i was trying to recall the history of panipat battles which are one of the most significant in Indian history.We finally landed and after watching the dull and silent planes in airport i boarded the bus which took us to the terminal. I checked in and picked my baggaged and exited the airport.

MindTree was kind enough to make all arrangements for me and my colleague. I was picked up by a cab driver who was waiting for me with the nameplate upon which my name was written. This was the first time that someone is waiting for me to pick up. Though this is a small thing but i will cherish this moment for atleast somedays.I reached my guesthouse and i was taken to my room.

The guest house where we were put up was Comfort Inn.My room was a nice one. It had a double cot, with a TV,small fridge, nice bathroom and sofas and table for your comfort.I switched on TV and watched 2 movies back to back. I walked outside to check out some hotels,shops etc. Since this location was near highway i couldn't find many hotels. There were some stalls of junk food here and there. The guesthouse had very good food service. I had some snacks in evening and a hefty dinner with tomato soup.

I am very tired and thought of sleeping,but i wanna record this journey of mine, so you are bearing me by this blog. i am looking forward for my first day in my new assignment tomorrow.
